Kala Hans – Black Afghani Choker Necklace 770.00

Afghani Kuchi Tribal Jewellery is a reflection of the nomadic freedom and combines it with various influences from many different cultures visited while traveling.

Much of the stuff one sees in the Indian market may be vintage and imported. In addition, our resourceful Indian artisans have also begun crafting Afghan-style jewellery. Mindfully adapting their techniques and giving the traditional designs a contemporary twist.

Here is an Afghani Edit, curated for you all with some of my favourite Afghani Style neckpieces, handpicked for you all.

This black choker is a beauty that can be worn with a multitude of outfits whether Indian or Western.

Style Tips: Pair it with a flowing maxi dress, a pair of sliders and a bohemian bag to complete the look.

Kalamkari Hand-Painted Handloom Cotton Stole 1,500.00

The Kalamkari Hand-Painted Handloom Cotton Stole is a timeless and elegant accessory that highlights the beauty of traditional Indian craftsmanship. Here’s a naturally detailed description:

    Key Features:

    • Fabric:

      • Made from handloom cotton, this stole is lightweight, breathable, and ideal for everyday wear. Handloom cotton is known for its softness and durability, providing a comfortable yet elegant drape.
    • Artistry:

      • The stole features Kalamkari hand-painting, a traditional art form that originated in Andhra Pradesh and is known for its intricate designs and storytelling motifs. Kalamkari art often depicts nature, mythological figures, and cultural symbols, painted with great attention to detail.
    • Natural Dyes:

      • The Kalamkari designs are hand-painted using natural dyes made from organic sources like plants, roots, and minerals. This eco-friendly approach gives the stole its rich and vibrant colors while ensuring that it is gentle on the skin.
    • Unique Craftsmanship:

      • Each piece is hand-painted, meaning that no two stoles are exactly the same. Variations in patterns and colors are part of the charm of handcrafted items, making each stole unique and special.

    Styling & Versatility:

    • The Kalamkari hand-painted stole is versatile and can be worn in multiple ways. Whether draped over the shoulders for a casual day out, wrapped around the neck as a scarf, or paired with traditional Indian outfits, it adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to any attire.
    • The natural cotton fabric and the timeless Kalamkari patterns make it suitable for both formal and casual occasions, whether it’s for daily wear or special events.

    Care Instructions:

    • To preserve the hand-painted artwork and the softness of the fabric, dry clean is recommended. Avoid machine washing, direct sunlight, and harsh detergents to maintain the color vibrancy and texture.

The Kalamkari Hand-Painted Handloom Cotton Stole is a perfect combination of tradition and style, offering an eco-friendly and artistic accessory that enhances any wardrobe.

Kalamkari Linen Hand painted Dupatta 3,800.00

Kalamkari is a popular and one of the oldest hand-printed textile artwork from South India. Only natural dyes are used in Kalamkari, which is an ancient style of hand painting done on cotton or silk fabric with a tamarind pen. It is amazing that a 3000-year-old craft of pen Kalamkari still survives, unaltered and majestic in its very simplicity.

Kalamkari was first used to portray scenes from sacred texts such as the Mahabharata, Ramayana and Bhagavatam. These paintings were often used as decorative backdrops in temples, depicting the stories of deities. Today, these subjects are still common in Kalamkari, as well as other spiritual and ancient symbols.

1.This product has been woven by hand and may have slight irregularities that are a natural outcome of the human involvement in the process.

2.Screen and digital printed ones look perfect whereas authentic hand-painted Kalamkari has irregularities and minor stains as they are being hand-painted by artisans. It is the irregularity and imperfection that add more beauty to authentic Kalamkari.

3.The smell of milk is the other prominent factor as it is involved in the process of making Kalamkari sarees, dupattas & fabrics.

     4. As the fabrics are being washed multiple times during the process, they are rustic, raw & earthy.

5.Kalamkari uses natural dyes which do not carry a brighter look like the artificial dyes and the natural ones might fade a little over a period of time without losing their hand-painted elegance.
