OUR STORY

Flowers are an important part of religious practice in Hindu Temples, with shrines to Hindu deities covered with red, orange, and yellow blossoms. But these flowers are sprayed with pesticides and other chemicals, which pollute the environment when thrown away. Every year, around 8 lakhs tones of flower waste is being dumped in the Indian rivers adding to all the other factors choking them to death. Be it the Yamuna, Ganga or any other water bodies – one thing is common in all of them — the immense amount of pollution due to religious flowers waste. While there are a number of organizations are now working towards recycling and reusing flower waste, but the pollution is not yet under control. And that’s simply because of us, the consumers of flowers who are not treating the waste effectively.
In this way and others, industrial waste, urban sewage, and agricultural run off has poisoned entire river systems, and even today 600 million people — roughly half of India’s population — live without enough clean water.

Thus, to counter these problems and to treat waste effectively, REWA was born. We make Toxic-free, Sustainable and Eco-friendly products while engaging underprivileged women to work with us.
